BIO–SKETCH
Dr. Hukam Chand Sharma (Ganeshia), widely
known as Dr. H.C. Ganeshia, was born on
9 May 1954 in the village of
Moroli Daang, Bharatpur district,
Rajasthan. He completed his LL.B. and
D.L.L. from the University of Rajasthan
and began his legal practice in 1979 at
the Bharatpur District Court.
In 1986, he joined the
Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur, where he
soon emerged as one of the state’s leading legal minds.
Today, he is recognised across India as a prominent
legal luminary and a respected
constitutional expert, whose work spans
law, education, human rights and global humanitarian
service.

Bazigar Mahasangh Land Allotment Case
In this historic judgment, the Rajasthan High Court
ordered the allocation of 1200 murabba
land to nomadic tribes — a major step in recognising their
rights and livelihood.
Ramsingh & Others vs. State (302 IPC)
In a rare decision, anticipatory bail under
Section 438 CrPC was granted — a
significant milestone in the understanding of personal
liberty and bail jurisprudence.
Constitutional Interpretation
Several of his arguments have helped shape the
understanding of
personal liberty under Article 21
of the Constitution of India, influencing future
jurisprudence and strengthening protections for citizens.
